The brief
Redesign a magazine cover, contents page and content copy. Gabriella redesigned the faith-based DaySpring Magazine across six pages: a front cover, two table-of-contents pages, two content pages and a back cover.
The concept
A light serif masthead sits over full-bleed photography, with cover lines ranged left in a consistent hierarchy. The contents pages run type over a tinted image field rather than a white panel, and the interior pages pair a pull quote with silhouetted photographs to break the column rhythm.
The visual system
The masthead is a light, widely spaced serif on two lines, EVERYDAY over FAITH, sitting over shoreline photography. Inside, a warm floral-tinted field carries the page furniture — section tags, page numbers and pull quotes — while photographs are silhouetted into flower shapes so they sit inside the columns.
Contents
The contents run over a tinted photographic field rather than a white panel.
